Retail
and Sales Success
As
a young girl, I was fascinated and inspired by fashion. When I was 8 years
old I began clipping fashion magazine pages and taping them to my bedroom
walls. As I grew older, the only habit that changed was that I began
buying Vogue instead of Seventeen Magazine. When I finished college, I considered
a fashion career, but my right brain took over and I became an attorney. After
practicing real estate law for several years, I was yearning for a more creative
outlet. It was time for a change.
The
Name
It
was during this time of discovery that Jystice Synclare (pronounced Justice
Sinclare) was conceived. I have always admired CNN Style Correspondent Elsa
Klench, appreciating her reporting talent for making fashion newsworthy. After
sharing my dream of following in the footsteps of Ms. Klench, my friends and
I decided that I needed an 'anchor name'. We collaborated to create a name
that was stylish, unique and incorporated my legal background. At last my
alias - Jystice Synclare - was born and my dream had a name.
Nikki
is Created
Always looking
to accessorize or add novelty to an outfit, I began shopping across the United
States for flower pins. After having no luck, I went to a local craft store
and set out to make the flowers myself. After several months of perfecting
the flower design, I began wearing the accessory with every outfit and getting
requests from friends to make copies. Bringing the flowers to life, I began
giving them proper names. My friend Nikki is not only a creative source behind
the magnetic backing and the name Jystice Synclare; she was the first to wear
the large white rose. Today, my large 6" and small 3" roses remain
The Nikki.
The
Patented Magnet
My biggest problem with the flower 'pins' I was creating was that the larger size flowers flopped and the pins caused holes. I couldn't wear the flower on the outside of a leather coat or on a silk blouse. Enter the magnetic backing. One day a good friend returned home from a business conference wearing her magnetized corporate nametag. Voila! I went in search of magnets that were strong enough to keep the flower secure. I began experimenting and perfected a design to cleverly hide the base of the magnet under an attractive leaf. I also added my signature charm.
It was then time to put my legal skills to work. I successfully obtained a patent for Jystice Synlcare magnetized flowers and established a sole proprietorship.
Next
it was time to hit the pavement. I 'cold called' several retailers and the
response was overwhelming. Before I knew it, several upscale stores and boutiques
were selling Jystice Synclare.
Today,
I continue to personally hand-make each Jystice Synclare flower, still adding
a personal touch with my signature charms. I have expanded the line to include
bridal accessories and home décor.
Thank you for
visiting and I hope you enjoy your Jystice Synclare.
Sincerely,
